Description

TOM's was founded in 1974 and started out as a Toyota tuning shop; in 1983 it set up its own competition division, also based on Toyota. TOM's first foray into F3 came in 1981; when they began developing Toyota engines for the Japanese F3 championship, where they achieved almost immediate success. In 1987 TOM's opened a facility in Norfolk, England, and began developing their own Toyota F3 engine for the European market.

This 2.0-liter Toyota 3S-GE engine, developed by Yamaha engineers; was produced in Japan in 1991 for use in a Celica 2.0 GT-i 16; and modified in 1992 by TOM's for the new '92 032F and '93 033F cars.
Super square engine used in Formula 3 in the 1990s; overhauled and modified with Weber 48 DCO carburetors in the UK, in 2019, for use on a prototype; with 2 races. Purchased by the current owner in the same year for free practice on a Ralt Formula 3, but not used.
Complete with ignition control unit; small flywheel with crown and rear starter motor for Hewland gearboxes.
